While it's true that many professionals use very high-end, expensive cameras and lenses, that doesn't mean that you need to break the bank to produce professional-looking images. Photographer Manny Ortiz has made a new video about how you can take your camera, even if it's an entry-level model, and improve your own image quality without needing to upgrade your gear.
One of the secrets to great images is great light and you can create beautiful light without spending thousands of dollars on cameras and lenses. Now, of course, a better camera, all else equal, results in better images in a number of ways. Same goes for lenses. However, when you use good light, take advantage of the gear you have and process your images well, can you really tell the difference between a $500 camera and a $5,000 camera?
Surely better gear leads to better images, but suppose you want to improve your work, do you need to upgrade your gear? Not necessarily. As Ortiz says and shows in the video below, great light is the great equalizer between inexpensive and high-end cameras and lenses.
While YouTube isn't a great place to compare images, you can download a couple of images Ortiz shows via this link.
