Want a quick, easy and cheap way to spice up your portraits? Try colored smoke

French photographer Mathieu Stern is often making videos about strange and unusual lenses he adapts to his Sony mirrorless cameras, but his latest video is a neat trick to add some visual flair to your portrait photography.
The flair comes in the form of colored smoke. There are some cheap smoke cakes you can get on Amazon, but they don't produce a ton of smoke. Stern then put one in a glass jar and then closed it to allow the smoke to build up before releasing it at once for a neat effect. Of course, when working with something like this, it's worth considering potential risks and ensuring proper ventilation and care when using fire. With that said, the results are very neat!
