Artificial sun: Using strobes to recreate natural light

 

 

While natural light often provides some of the best light for your portrait images, it is not always possible to use natural light. When you want complete control of light, you need to use artificial light, and it's possible through the use of a fairly simple strobe setup to realistically recreate the look of natural light.

In a new video tutorial, Tony Northrup shows off how to use a main light (also known as a key light) with a beauty dish, an accent light and a third light which Tony bounces off the ceiling to light the entire room.
