It's not enough to simply have good camera gear, you also have to be familiar with it and know it inside and out to be able to make the best use of your camera and lenses. In a new video, photographer Nigel Danson shares four camera settings every photographer must understand.
It's also not enough to understand your camera's settings and menus, you should also be familiar with its limitations in different situations. If you know what your camera does best, you can capture better images. Perhaps more importantly, if you know where its weaknesses are, you can likely make adjustments in how you capture a particular shot and overcome some of those weaknesses. For example, it's good to know the highest ISO you can use with your camera. It's also good to know how far to the right you can expose a scene while still being able to recover highlights in your RAW files.
