A capable computer is a must-have for photographers. However, a good monitor is perhaps even more important. BenQ has introduced a new monitor aimed squarely at photographers, which hopes to blend high performance with a consumer-friendly price point.

The new BenQ PhotoVue SW240 builds upon the previous BenQ SW2700PT monitor and delivers a wide color gamut and large 24.1-inch 16:10 display. The SW240 is powered by BenQ's AQCOLOR technology and covers 99 percent of the Adobe RGB color space in addition to 100 percent of sRGB and 95 percent of DCI-P3 color spaces. Further, to help make it even easier to get set up and editing images, the monitor comes calibrated from the factory. When used with BenQ's Palette Master Element calibration software, you can further fine-tune the display and ensure color accuracy.

Additional key features include a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 14-bit 3D LUT, Color Mode HotKey for switching between color modes, an advanced black and white mode and an optional shading hood. If you preorder now, you can actually get the hood for free, which is a $100 value. The monitor will be shipping later this month and will retail for $399 USD.
