Do you like unusual lenses? Do you like gold? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then Lomography's new limited-edition Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens may be right up your alley. The gold-plated brass lens promises "dreamy" imagery with a soft focus appearance and distinct aperture.
On the topic of aperture, the lens ranges from f/2.9 to f/16 and features specially-designed plates to give your out-of-focus areas a special look. There are patterns including heart and star shapes. The lens has a 44mm image circle, 37-degree field of view, 40.5mm filter thread and 0.5-meter close-focus distance. The lens has a pair of elements in a single group and a helicoid focusing mechanism.
The lens is available in Canon EF, Nikon F and Pentax K mounts for $549 USD. You can preorder the lens here with delivery beginning in June. If you would prefer a chrome-plated version, those are on sale for $399.
