Backlit portraits during the golden hour: Behind-the-scenes video with photographer Irene Rudnyk

 

 

We have shared behind-the-scenes videos from photographer Irene Rudnyk on multiple occasions and this time, we join her for an outdoors golden hour photoshoot.

While she dabbles with film, this time Rudnyk is using her trusty Canon 5D Mark III with a Canon 85mm f/1.2L prime. Rudnyk's preferred lighting style when shooting outside is to utilize backlight, which you can see in numerous shots in the below video. With Irene's behind-the-scenes videos, you can learn a lot of different posing techniques for your subject as well, which is often one of the more challenging aspects of portrait photography.
