Nikon has today announced the D3500, their latest entry-level DSLR. The D3500 maintains many of the same features and specifications as its predecessor, including its 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, 11-point autofocus system and maximum shooting speed of 5 frames per second.
Looking closer at the D3500, the biggest changes come to the camera's overall form and shape. The front grip has been revised to be deeper and more comfortable to use. And the camera overall is slightly smaller and lighter than the D3400, making the Nikon D3500 the company's most portable DSLR ever. Despite slimming down, the camera is rated for 1,550 shots on a charge, which is 350 more than its predecessor.
The camera offers an ISO range of 100 to 25,600 and offers users numerous shooting modes to help make capturing stills and video easier than ever, including scene modes such as portrait and landscape. Speaking of video, the D3500 records 1080p video at up to 60 frames per second, the same as the D3400.
