Yesterday, Phase One announced its new IQ4 camera system, which includes numerous upgrades to usability and introduces three new digital backs, two of which feature 151-megapixel image sensors. Alongside the announcement, Phase One Industrial launched its 150MP Metric Camera and new aerial systems.
The iXM-RS metric camera series is headlined by the iXM-RS150F, which captures 150-megapixel (14,204 x 10,652 pixels) images and is available in RGB and Achromatic models. The backside illuminated CMOS sensor captures images at two frames per second and offers better light sensitivity to previous models. The pair of 150-megapixel cameras and the 100-megapixel iXM-RS camera features Phase One's RS lens series with seven field replaceable focal length options, which range from 32mm to 150mm. These lenses, designed and built for aerial photography by Rodenstock and Schneider Kreuznach, are calibrated for infinity focus from the factory and are equipped with 1/2,500-second leaf shutters.
"Our customers need flexible, efficient imaging solutions for projects that demand superior accuracy and efficiency," said Dov Kalinski, General Manager of Phase One Industrial. "We are committed to helping our customers succeed, therefore we have designed the new iXM-RS camera series and Aerial Systems to exploit the powerful resolution and light sensitivity available from state-of-the-art sensor technology. We aim to deliver the most comprehensive performance for a wide range of photogrammetric applications."
While heavily specialized, and not oriented toward consumers, it's interesting to see how Phase One utilizes the newest sensor technology across multiple product segments.
