If you're a Fujifilm photographer and you've been patiently waiting for a long, bright telephoto prime lens for your work in the field, that wait is now over. I recently had the chance to take the new XF 200mm f/2 WR into the field for a few days shooting and have an initial gallery and some general shooting notes for your initial inspection and perusal.

Taking the lens and the supplied 1.4x teleconverter in search of wildlife along the coast with the popular Fujifilm X-T3, which sports an upgraded C-AF system, my goal was to bring you a variety of subjects both still and moving and to give you an initial look at this intriguing combination while awaiting our full technical lab test.

1/1500s / f/2.8 / ISO 160

1/2000s / f/2.8 / ISO 160

[1.4x teleconverter attached]

1/1000s / f/2.5 / ISO 160

So how does the rig fare for subjects on-the-go, and is the combination sharp enough for the discerning eye? Dive in below for all the details!
