Luminar 3.0.2 released: Improved performance, features and new camera compatibility

Skylum has released the newest version of their popular photo editing software, Luminar. Available now, Luminar version 3.0.2 brings new features, performance improvements and improved camera compatibility.

In Luminar 3.0.2, Windows users will experience faster app startup and photo imports. On macOS, when moving files between an external and internal drive, the files are no longer duplicated in your library. Further, Mac users have improved sRGB exporting with respect to color consistency and improved native Luminar file (.lmnr) file importing. On both Mac and Windows, additional improvements to stability have been made.

Of Luminar 3.0.2, Skylum CEO Alex Tsepko has this to say, "Building upon our tried and true AI photo editing tools, Luminar 3.0.2 will further enhance a photographer’s experience. With these updates, users will be able to manage and edit their photos more effectively and securely, allowing them to focus on being creative in their craft.”

 
 

Regarding new features, there is a new "Locate Folder" command available on both Mac and Windows version of Luminar 3.0.2. This allows you to find misplaced or moved folders on your system. There is also a new dedicated toolbar for Gallery and Single Image views and new language support, including Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Italian.

For new camera support, the newest version of Luminar adds support for the following cameras:

  • Nikon: D3500, P1000, Z6 and Z7
  • Panasonic: Lumix LX100 II
  • Fujifilm: GFX 50R and X-T3
  • Sony: RX100 VA, RX100 VI, HX99 and HX95
  • Leica: M-10D, M10-P and D-Lux 7

Looking forward, Skylum has also updated their Luminar roadmap, outlining new features which will arrive during 2019. Windows users can expect subfolder management, offline file alerts, new shortcut keys and new folder improvements. On Mac, Luminar users can expect database management, new preference panel options, improved handoffs, Aurora HDR integration and improvements for folders.
