After a brief hiatus last week, our regular Firmware Friday roundup returns today with news of updates for five cameras from Canon, Olympus and Panasonic, as well as a couple of upgraded software utilities for Fujifilm cameras. We've a fair bit to cover, so with no further ado, let's roll up our sleeves and get to it!
Canon EOS RP and PowerShot SX70 HS
Kicking things off this week, we have two new updates from Canon including a rare fixed-lens camera update, only the second we're aware of from the company in over two years. Both firmware version 1.1.0 for the Canon EOS RP (download here) and firmware version 1.1.0 for the Canon PowerShot SX70 HS (download here) are available immediately. Support has been added for the company's HTTP-based Camera Control API function, fulfilling a promise made at the start of the year. No other changes are made in the new firmware.
Olympus E-M10 II and E-M10 III
Olympus, too, has similar firmware updates for two different models, in its case the E-M10 II and E-M10 III mirrorless cameras. Version 1.4 firmware for the E-M10 II and version 1.2 for the E-M10 III both aim to improve stability when using UHS-II SD cards or shooting in Live Time mode. Olympus' updates are available through its Digital Camera Updater app, which you can download here.
Panasonic AK-UC4000 video camera and AK-UCU600 control unit
On the hardware front, that just leaves Panasonic. The company has issued new firmware both for its AK-UC4000 video camera, and for the related AK-UCU600 camera control unit. Firmware version 0E.AF-002-00.00 for the AK-UC4000 (download here) adds support for V-Log capture in all but HDR mode. Firmware version 0F.71-000-01.00 for the AK-UCU600 or version 10.6B-000-01.09 with optional interface kit installed (download here) adds support for Media over IP and expands support for the AK-UC3000 camera.
Fujifilm Raw File Converter EX and X Raw Studio
And that just leaves Fujifilm, for this week's roundup. The company has updated both its Raw File Converter EX and X Raw Studio applications for both MacOS and Windows, adding support for the X-T30 camera body, and fixing minor issues in the previous versions. The X Raw Studio update also now allows you to copy and paste the white balance shift value. Download Raw File Converter EX 3.0 v8.0.2.0 for Windows here, and for MacOS here. Fujifilm X Raw Studio v1.6.0 for Windows can be obtained here, and its MacOS equivalent can be found here.
