Sanyo: New model for Xacti HD-series
15:38 EST - Japanese consumer electronics company Sanyo Electric Co. Ltd. has unveiled a new digital camera that updates its existing Xacti HD1a model with some new features.
The original Xacti HD1 was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show a year ago, followed mid-year by the HD1a (which dropped the original model's OLED display in favor of a more standard LCD display, added a couple of new still and video resolutions, and made it possible to edit videos in-camera). 13:36 EST - Rounding out its announcements for the Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung revealed its new S1050 digital camera.
The Samsung S1050 features a Samsung SHD-branded f/2.8 - f/4.4, 5x optical zoom lens with a generous (at the telephoto end, at least) 38 - 190mm equivalent focal range. Samsung announces S850 digicam
12:01 EST - The Samsung S850 has - as you might guess from the name - a sensor resolution of eight megapixels coupled to a Samsung SHD-branded 5x optical zoom lens.
This provides a zoom range from 38mm - a moderate wide angle - to a useful 190mm telephoto, with maximum aperture varying from a fair F2.8 at wide angle to F4.4 at telephoto. Macro focusing is to a minimum of one centimeter at wide angle. Samsung: Two new S-series digicams
21:13 EST - The Samsung S630 and S730 are closely related models, sharing basically identical bodies and differing mainly in sensor resolution.
The S630 offers a sensor resolution of six megapixels, and the S730 boosts this to seven megapixels.
