Welcome to Imaging Resource's Live Photokina 2008 Tradeshow Coverage. Since 1950, the German city of Cologne has played host to Photokina - the world�s largest photography and imaging expo. Since the 1952 show, Photokina has been a biennial event, meaning that it takes place only once every two years. For 2008, Imaging Resource will have a four-man team on the show floor, bringing you on-the-spot videos of the hottest products. Our news team back home will also be providing a steady flow of coverage on all the latest announcements, ensuring readers are kept on top of what we're expecting to be a very busy show. Photokina 2008 looks set to be a very exciting event, so keep checking back throughout the show!

Lensbaby Composer -- Selective Focus Gets Hip
21:35 EDT - Earlier today, Lensbaby announced its re-engineered selective focus lens system. A new ball-joint model named the Composer joins the Control Freak, an updated 3G, and the Muse, an updated Lensbaby 2.0. Like the Composer the updated versions of the earlier generation Lensbabies now feature interchangeable optics. The three 50mm optics range from double coated glass to single coated to plastic. They're joined by a pinhole/zone plate optic. So you can not only control what's in focus, but you can select the kind of blur you want, too. Sigma announces DP2
02:01 EDT - Sigma has today announced its latest fixed-lens Foveon X3-based compact camera, the Sigma DP2. The Sigma DP2 is closely related to the company's existing Sigma DP1 digital camera, but with a differing choice of lens. In place of the DP1's 28mm-equivalent f/4.0 lens, the Sigma DP2 has an f/2.8 41mm lens. Sigma announces SD15 DSLR development
02:01 EDT - Alongside today's announcement of the DP2 fixed-lens compact, Sigma has today revealed that it is developing the Sigma SD15 digital SLR. Few details on the Sigma SD15 are currently available.
