I3A Presents 2009 Leadership Award to Kyocera Sanyo's Atsushi 'Andy' Kodera

General Imaging announces waterproof digicam
18:59 EDT - Alongside this year's Photo Marketing Association tradeshow, General Imaging announced no less than ten new General Electric-branded digicam models for 2009. Nine of these can be found in a separate news item, but one model included a first for General Imaging, hence meriting a separate press release. The General Imaging G3WP digital camera is the company's first to feature waterproofing, and is said to be safe for use in depths up to ten feet. General Imaging: Nine more new GE digicams
18:56 EDT - Alongside its waterproof G3WP digital camera, General Imaging has announced nine other new digicams across its A, E and X-series. The General Electric A950, A1035, A1050, A1235 and A1250 are all very closely related with the exception of their choice of image sensor and zoom lens, and of course their pricing. The GE A950 has a 9.1 megapixel sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens, while the General Electric A1050 is identical save for its choice of a 10.1 megapixel sensor. Pretec: 666x CF is world's fastest
16:15 EST - During the Photo Marketing Association tradeshow, flash manufacturer Pretec announced what it says is the world's fastest CompactFlash card. Just ten days after announcing a 433x CompactFlash card at the "Focus on Imaging" show in Birmingham, UK the company has upped the ante still further with a CF card billed as offering 666x speeds.
