Released in May of 2014, the Fujinon XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS is a telephoto zoom lens providing an effective focal length equivalence of 83-300mm. Part of Fuji's XF-line of lenses, the XF 55-200 f/3.5-4.8 lens features slightly higher-end specs compared to the the more consumer-oriented XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS, especially with regards to the faster f/3.5-4.8 aperture range.

The build quality of the all-metal Fuji 55-200mm lens is very good. For a telephoto zoom lens, it isn't all that heavy (just over 20 oz.), but mounted on the smaller X-mount bodies, such as the X-E1 we use for our tests, it does make for a kit that's not quite as svelte as you might have hoped. Performance-wise, the 55-200mm is an impressive lens with great sharpness at most focal lengths, and other optical qualities are very impressive -- especially thanks to Fuji's in-camera corrections.
