Not long after Sony's big unveiling of their latest full-frame mirrorless camera, the Sony A7R III, we were given the opportunity to shoot with this all-new high-res and high-performance camera at a Sony-organized press event. We've now been given the green light to share these images, so head over to our Sony A7R III Gallery Page and browse away!
As many are likely already aware, Sony's latest A7R iteration keeps the same 42.2-megapixel, BSI, full-frame CMOS sensor as in the A7R II, but instead brings over the image processing pipeline from the speedy Sony A9. In doing so, Sony was able to increase the signal-to-noise ratio of the sensor and not only expand the native ISO range but also improve the already-excellent dynamic range by a stop all the way 15-stops. Not only is the A7R III capable of high-resolution photos, but the A9 performance improvements to processing and autofocus makes it a great choice for action and other fast-moving subjects. It's an extremely versatile camera.
From this initial look, the Sony A7R III is definitely capable of capturing images with excellent fine detail and resolution, and other qualities such as dynamic range and color rendition are very pleasing and accurate. We can't wait to test the image quality performance more closely in our lab, but for now, please pixel-peep the various real-world shots in our Gallery!
