Which camera style do you prefer: DSLR or mirrorless? Canon's giving you the choice with the EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II. With both cameras sporting the same imaging pipeline and, for the most part, vastly similar performance specs, the choice for an intermediate-class camera comes down to which type of camera you want.

Based around an all-new 32.5-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and the latest-gen DIGIC 8 image processor, both cameras offer the highest-resolution ever from a Canon APS-C camera. Plus, both cameras offer Dual Pixel CMOS AF in Live View and a 1/16000s electronic shutter, as well as 4K video at 30p -- something both predecessor models did not offer. And, as you can expect, with the same sensor and processor, both models offer the same ISO 100-25,600 range with a high expandable option up to ISO 51,200.

When it comes to differences between these two new cameras though, there are a few. The 90D, successor to the 80D, offers the traditional optical viewfinder experience with a 45-point phase-detect AF system (the same as in the 80D). It also has a 1/8000s mechanical shutter, plus a new joystick control, as well as that classic DSLR shape. The M6 Mark II, meanwhile, is slim, compact and lightweight, although it is a bit larger than the original M6, with a slightly larger grip, more room on the back and updated physical controls.
